Today the Matt Golczewski Memorial Fund, Inc. donated $5,000 to Sean’s House which is just off the University of Delaware campus. Teens and young adults experiencing a mental health crisis can walk in and find immediate help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Regular mental health related programming is also beginning at Sean’s House, which opened on October 1, 2020. The MGMF donation has been earmarked for programming for student-athletes, who experience much higher than average rates of anxiety and depression than the population. When we visited the house just 12 days after it’s opening, approximately 70 young people had walked in seeking assistance since opening, many of them student-athletes. The House will be a difference maker for many.
